Meet Boris the Cat  and Ferdinand the duck Sue has had these pets for about 6 years but I haven't been up to see her in that time.  Ferdinand came with two femals from a rescue home and for a time we had free duck eggs when we went to East Wales but they died over the last 3 years I think and now Ferdinand is all alone.  Sue doesn't want to get any replacements for his wives as getting someone in to look after him when she is away is difficult.  He is a big duck about the size of an Aylsbury but judging from his colouring he has Mallard in his ancestry some where.
Boris is also a rescue from the same home, he too is difficult for anyone to look after as he is a bit psychologically damaged from the life he had before he was rescued.  The dogs get on well with him as he is a part of their pack and don't chase him as they do out side cats.  Hugo however is fascinated by him and spends hours in the dining room watching him in his favourite perch on the top ot the Welsh dresser(you can just see the corner of the top of it in the picture.  Sue is the hand that feeds him so she can do any thing to him, with  me how ever he became distressed if I tried to pet him except when I found him on the settee in the living room and he allowed me to pet him for the whole hour I was watching the Bill.  Bigger pictures of the them are under the cut.
