We have had gloriously hot and sunny weather for the best part of 4 days and I want it gone.  Not the sunny part that is just fine by me it's the heat I can't take and we are expecting a high of 23 C today.  Having just got back from from an animal sanctuary that I took some towels and bedding to from me and 6 huge tins of Tesco own brand cat food  from Janet(after eating it like it was roast duck with a side helping of frogs for months her cats won't touch it with a barge pole) I think it has passed that temperature and is heading for 25 C and I swear the sun was on the drivers side of the car both going and coming back even though I was taking the same roads, the sun must be on roller skates today and moved round faster than it should.  Mike my next door neighbour is laying a patio, I've justtaken him out a cup of tea and offered to hose him down with his garden hose, his answer...When I've finished laying the slabs I'll give you a call.  I think he is regreting starting the job today.

Any how Imanaged to get in and out of the animal sanctuary with out being tempted.  It was officially closed to visitors but since I came bearing gifts they made an exception for me.  All I saw was the reception area and the two elderly resident cats, a fat black and white tuxedo cat who graciously accepted a skritch but didn't mind a fuss when I stopped to speak to Annie.  Annie is a 14 year old ginger tabby with white points and has had her years lopped in places because of skin cancer.  She is thin and small and looks kittenish because of her size and absolutley adored fuss, every time I straightened up she would mew at me and bump my leg.  And I must confess I teased her by stopping the tickles more often than I should because she sounded like a lamb bleating not a cat mewing.  she folowed me to the car as she seemed to want to come home with me and I had to take her back to reception and she had to be shut in until I left.  It was a 40 min journey each way and I broke off in the middle of the way back to follow a brown tourist sign to a canal basin in Pontypool.  I have now found another sight for my camera and I to go walkies on, but it will be a cooler day when I go.
