News at Last

I'm pretty sure I mentioned the fact that I had a new Job lined up as soon as my CRB check came through, It was way back just after Easter if I did.

Well I've just received a phone call, it has just arrived. In a couple of weeks I will no longer be a librarian but will be in the process of becoming an Admin Officer for our Family Support Unit. I have no idea what the Family Support unit actually does but my part of the unit will be involved with orders, invoicing and keeping the funding records up to date.

Quite honestly I think my major problem will be finding enough work to do as what was on the job description was what I used to do between dealing with the public and books at the Branch libraries I've been in charge of over the years.

However I must admit I'm a little bit scared. It's like joining a new school at age 11 I won't know anyone and I don't make friends easily. Help!

Yay for the new sedentary job! If it's a small office, I'm sure you'll fit in well and find at least one person you get on well with. Is it in a good location for transport and lunch cafes?

Office wise it is very small, me and a clerk/typist and he's called Khalid. Bit there are about a dozen social workers that I am team admin to so there will probably someone I'll click with.

I've got over the scared feeling a bit now I'm not 11 any more and I've had plenty of practice getting used to new people. I'll survive.
