This is the first time in a couple of weekends I've had a chance to sit down at my window and bird watch. Judging from the number of groups of Sparrows and Blue Tits visiting my feeding station I think the fledglings are out on there own now and very glad of somewhere they know is safe to eat, after all Mam brought them here, but they are going through the the peanuts like they were starving.
The thing is I've also hung up a bag of sunflower seeds and although one or two have landed on it and poked it a bit they haven't stayed. Do you think if I brought it back in and broke them up a bit with my rolling pin it would make them more accessible?
