This is the garden of the round Tower of Windsor castle and photgraphic proof that if you are the richest woman in Britain you can still have a beautifull garden even if the slope is near vertical.

I've never seen or heard of it before either. It is down on the lower ward next to St. Georges Chapel. Don't quote me on it but I think the audio guide said is was built after the dissolution of the monastaries to house the chaplains etc. for the Chapel.
Yo go through a small arch with a room above it in this same style and suddenly this half moon of small Tudor houses open in front of you.

Probably were in Tudor times. These days the houses are just that houses and it's a veranda, full of garden furniture, varying from white plastic to beautifully carved wood in the style of Tudor Furniture. There was also a scattering of bikes, cricket bats and tennis nets. A final reminder that Windsor Castle is a working castle where Her Majesty lives not a museum like Hampton Court.

So who lives there now? Staff?

I think so, the audio guide was not forthcoming on that point. All it said was to please not go on to the veranda or into the private gardens However the wide range of quality and ageuse of the things on the veranda indicated to me that there were a wide range of types living there from those living alone or as a couple with a good disposable income to families with children from 0 to 18. I think Hampton Court is where the Grace and Favour apartments are and Windsor is where the active staff live.
