I really should not go shopping on a Sunday, it is the one day of the week when I cannot say no to myself.

My cousins TV is definitely on its last legs and this lunch time they told me they were going to Comet to look for a new one, the remote of my 'less than a year old and therefore still within guarantee'video player bought there is no longer working. So I went with them, I should not have joined them at the TV's after handing in the remote, I walked out with a video/portable TV combo for my bedroom for £99, the cheapest I've seen,anybody out there ever heard of the manufacturers Goodmans? Or don't I want to know?

Yup. Heard of them. Other half says "cheaper end of consumer electronics, never heard of a bad experience with them." Yes, he always talks like a Dixon's catalogue.

Got it set up last night and hooked up with my Pacific DVD player and all's hunky dory.

Great reception even with the battered 25 year old indoor areal. Must get a newer one when I can get back to Comet
