I am once again in the land of the Luddites animal sitting. This year I have two less fish and one more mammal to look after. The mammal is a black rabbit called Misty, she now joins the black cat Pippin and four hamsters Nibbles, Blossom, Thistle and Flower. The cat is young, as is the rabbit the rest are elderly to ancient, Nibbles was 2 years old this January, so I am praying they will all survive my ministrations.I have just put Misty out in her run and watched her and Pippin having races up and down the length, her inside and him outside. He then rolled over on his back and stuck his paw through the wire wish she promptly licked, I think they like each other.

I can't call my friends Luddites any longer as I am sitting typing this on their newly Internet enabled computer. Isn't the pester power of a 14 year old girl amazing, she only had to nag for a month to get it. Of course it is a bank holiday weekend both here and in the USA so there is very little traffic on my lists and lj but at least I can now get on the fic sites ( no parental controls so far)

I think next doors three, Cosmo, Gizmo and Tiger, also like her as they all came and sat by the run for about 30 mins each. They didn't interact so much just sat and watched and lounged against the wire, no hunting behaviour. Not that it would have got them far Tiger is and adult and Misty is slightly bigger than him, Gizmo and Cosmo are 9 month old kittens and she would make three of both of them.

Misty is brought in to the house for a run around if the weather is to bad for her to go in her run and I suppose that is when Pippin maid friends with her.

That's fascinating. Once a previous cat of mine, Sigi, encountered a very large rabbit known as a New Zealand White which had got loose from a neighbour's property. She was interested and followed it without stalking, and when it turned round, she just sat down and looked. Maybe cats and rabbits get on together. There was no hostility and they may have made friends had they got the chance.
