I'm back with a little less bust on the left than I had last Thursday. I finally got a phone call from the hospital at 7pm to say they had a bed for me. I had given up and gone to bed to watch videos and sulk. I already had my bag packed and I was up dressed and knocking on my cousin's door in about 5 minutes, we did the 12 miles to the Royal Gwent ( known as the Gwent) in about 10 mins. I arived at the ward before the nurses had stripped and remade the bed. I was *not* going to give them a chance to change their minds. I was told I would only be in three days but they kept me in till Sunday and Saturday night was when I started looking in to the escape tunnel.
Sleeping wasn't as bad as I expected since there are small screne TVs at each bed and for £3.50 you get 24 hour TV with sound via head phones, better than earplugs for keeping out noises and I find the BBC 24 hour news very soporific.
I do have a question though 'Why when you do not have anything scheduled, operations, BP every four hours, medications etc do the nurses insist on waking you up at6.00 am for a cup of tea?' I don't even drink tea!
