Goodbye old friend

Losyn has been getting gradually worse over the time since he was diagnosed with cancer but he was still eating and enjoying our walks together. On Christmas day I think he ate more turkey than both the girls combined and he tucked into a small dish of trifle brandy soaked sponge and custard made from basics with a little of the cream but over the next few days he ate less and less until he stopped eating on New Years day. He came for a walk with me and the girls this morning and had a lovely time sniffing and putting his scent back on a walk he hadn't been on for some time. This evening he had an evaluation appointment with the vet, he did not come back. I miss him and I know the girls will miss him too. Beth is in tears but we must think of him being out of pain and safe from any more. God bless you my gentle old man, you had a bad beginning but a good life you touched more people than you would ever realise.

Those of you who friend me on LJ will have read this already but I do have a few friends only from here and this is the first day since Losyn died that I have been able to post in DW.

I have thought of Losyn many times and knew this was coming. I am very sorry for your loss, and I understand it completely as I have been in the same place many times. He was very lucky to have found you. I'm sure you have heard of the Rainbow Bridge? I look forward myself to being reunited with all my beloved furry ones. ♥

Oh yes I know of the Rainbow Bridge and though I have not had many pets in my life. I know I will be meeting Sooty, the dog of my childhood, Fred Hamster the pet of my 30s and poor old Mogs a stray cat who I took into the library I worked at all day but had to put out to fend for himself at nigh. I couldn't take him back to my flat as there was a no pets rule and he had to be put to sleep, kidney failure, before I moved to somewhere I could keep him. He at least had a safe dry warm hide up for the day and three good meals and someone who cared enough not to let him suffer when he became seriously ill so I think he'll be waiting too along side Loayn and the girls. I plan to out live them as Kandi would I think be miserable without me though Saffron would miss me but settle quite quickly
