Spring has come to my part of south Wales

Here we count it officially spring when the first blue bells(Hyacinthoides non-scripta bloom

So here is the proof that spring has arrived




Milk maids AKA lady's smock (Cardamine pratensis)



Black thorn AKA Sloe (Prunus spinosa)





Celendine ( Ranunculus ficaria)


And brand new just out of the bud beech leaves.(Fagus sylvatica)




And lastly not one that is normally found around here but which I planted in my now fully naturalised pond some years ago

Water Buttercup AKA Giant Spearwort (Ranunculus Lingua Gandiflora)

Lovely! It's definitely spring. Our bluebells in JBC are out as well :)

Now all we need is for the temperature to catch up with the flowers. I'm still in my winter pyjamas and am still very grateful to my dogs for being non cooling hot water bottles.
