I woke up this moring to a white garden and my Lillies that were still in full flower very definitely dead (for the winter only I hope). I put it down to a very heavy frost but now an hour later it is snowing. It's wet stuff and won't stick this time but snow in November in my neck of the woods bodes ill for the winter. The way the birds went through the abundant harvest of berries is also not a good sign. Any one know where I can get a team of huskies and a sleigh second hand?

*Glances outside* try here? I've got a friend who is planning on buiding herself a pack of huskies. She's only got one so far but is determined to travel by sleigh in a few winters' time...

I was trapped in south Wales by snow once. I was at a wedding in Burry Port, it started snowing during the reception and we were all stuck there for three days until we could follow a snow plough out along the head of the valleys road.

I had to check where Burry Port was before I answered this.

If you'd gone home the M4 route you could have probably got out Wales earlier, unless it was the winter of 84/85 when even the coastal routes were blocked.

The Head of the Valleys road is snow bound at least once evey winter.
