After a weeks leave I'm back to work tomorrow. I took the week off to rest my knee, I've been having problems with it since January and eventually went to the doctor. He sent me for an x-ray and I finally got to hear the results this week. Arthritis aggravated by a floater ( probably a piece of bone that has broken off). The treatment, nothing as I am already on anti-arthritics, basically the doctor said go away and learn to live with it. I will eventually have to have a knee reconstruction but the National Health Service will not, yes *will not*, do that until I'm sixty plus. I need to win the lottery and go private unless any of you out there has £3000 + you would care to lend me?

Add to that there are major road works going on just up valley from my home village ( about a hundred yards) which are making the busses up to half an hour late, I am going to have a joyous Monday :-(

Thanks, I will need it after tomorrow. The road works are a dirty great roundabout ( the size of a major motor way one), so that the housing estate they are building down by the river can be got at. The place where you turned in to Chapel of Ease.

Sorry to hear about the painful knee. Sigh. Get your name down on the waiting list now then when you get to the top of the list you will be 60 plus.

Roadworks!! It's always the same during the school holidays when I thought I'd get to work quicker - they dig bloody great holes everywhere. Temporary traffic lights - the work of the devil.

I do have one ray of hope, if the knee starts locking they will do it imediately. Any ideas on how to make it worse?

Road works are a bane here at the moment, thanks to them a twent minut trip to Asda on Saturday took an hour, three of them all on busy roads

Hm. Make it worse. Well did the doc say to rest it? You could try a marathon.
Or if he said to exercise, sit around all day. ;-)

Otherwise, I can only think of painful ideas such as whacking with a hammer. Perhaps not.
