Baby Sitting

I am exhausted, more so than Monday and it's only just after mid day.  I had a phone call from Beth at just after 9:00 am , which broken down to it's simplest said HELP!!!!.  Nothing disastrous just a little help with baby sitting.  The baby is a 12 week old Akita puppy with this colouring(see below).  She is being looked after by the cousins next door neighbour for one of her sons and family while they are on Holiday.  Problems arose this morning when her youngest son's wife went into labour and she had to go babysit human babies.  Beth  agreed to look after Maia until something could be sorted.  After less then 15 minutes of Losyn/Maia play I got the call and we took both out for walkies.  We walked them about 2 miles up hills and down dales (at Cwmcarn Scenic drive) until even Losyn was tired, the only thing keeping Maia going was the fact the bestest ( a family saying for something better than best)thing in the world(Losyn) was in front of her and he was still walking.  After a short drive home they had both rested enough to want to play again and all we could do was separate them, Beth sat on the patio with Losyn, who promptly fell asleep,  and I sat in the house with the baby girl who after grizzling for a while lay down and died .  I would have been worried that she really had but now and then she seemed to be reliving the walk as her legs started going as if she were running.  Any how, Grandma brought the baby back to her own house and Maia is now back with the her after a little fight, she didn't want to leave Losyn.  And this afternoon I might be going out picking black currents, it all depends on Jill, she can't stand the heat now and it is hot out there.

Well he tried, he was always sneaking up behind her and mounting her(dominance he's been neutered)and she would just collapse under him , roll over on her back and start licking his muzzle. When he let her go she would then try to mount him but being to young to know about these things she was doing it from the side. Then they would chase each other all over the house and garden, just watching them was exhausting.

Lots of excitement! I bet the puppy liked playing with Losyn, they'd have about the same energy level. :)

And are roughly the same size, Losyn is the size of a border collie, Maia is roughly 2 ins. shorter than him at the shoulder but much the same length and weight, though hers is all muscle. And this is at 12 weeks, when she is full grown I reckon you would be able to throw a saddle over her and she could take an average 2 year old for a ride.

Delightful, and Losyn is such a heartbreaker...good for him and for you!
If you are tired after THIS, others would be dead, so you are extremely fit, just have a rest like Losyn!

I didn't get the chance, we went to a Pick your own Fruit farm this afternoon and spent 2 hours picking, Blackcurrants and Gooseberries, We did take our collapsible canvas chairs with us and the majority of the picking was done sitting down with short rests for sunbathing in between bushes so it wasn't too tiring but I slept for 12 hours less about 15 minutes on Monday night and I think I will do just about that again tonight.

The only time they stayed still long enough in close enough proximitry to take a photo was when we were coming back in the car and she tried to cuddle up to Losyn. He tried to force himself through the door while it was still closed and I was sitting in the back with them to stop any active play. If I get a chnce I will take one of her sometime, together they are a whirlwind.
