Well I either:-
1. Did not put put on weight last time I weighed, the extra pounds were because the scales were in the wrong place.
2 I have lost all that extra weight plus 2 more pounds.

Because the scale this week showed that I had lost 2 more pounds. This is something of a minor miracle because I ate tea 4 times and Sunday lunch once with cousin A and had coffee 6 times with her and she insists on coffee being accompanied by cakes and tea being High Tea with lots of sweet fatty things. At least I can now tell her she must not tempt me any more and she will not, dieting is one thing diabetes is another.. I have lost 9 pound on this diet and 4 pounds leading up to it so if I lose an other pound this coming week that will be one whole stone. God I'm doing well.(that's not boasting it's thankfulness)

It was, I looked carefully where Beth put it and I was way out. Considering what I ate I am pleased with 2 pounds.

Yes, well done. I'm not on a proper diet - just trying to eat more sensibly and fewer fattening things. So far I've lost a couple of pounds, gained them and more, and have now dropped back to where I started from, pretty much.

Having this dizziness is sadly not conducive to getting any exercise, which isn't helping.

That's what I was doing for the 4 weeks before I started a diet proper but I think it was walking my cousins dog that got the seven pounds off me, 2 miles 3 times a week is a lot of walking. You have my sympathy I have suffered from inner and middle ear infections since I was 6 weeks old. I can't make up my mind which is worse, the pain of a middle ear infection of the dizziness of the inner ear one, though over the years I have learned how not to behave as if I'm drunk when I'm vertical.

I know what you mean about people insisting of giving cakes and stuff, ignoring the fact that you've told them you're trying to lose weight. (Ahem. Mum, I mean you.) But your health is different, so people should listen to you. Very well done. You certainly are doing well.

What sort of diet is it? Low-carb and low-fat?

Low calorie with out counting the calories, which basically is a low fat diet. I haven't excluded any thing though, I eat sausages, bacon, butter, cheese and chocolate but in very much reduced amounts and I've increased the practically zero calorie stuff like salad leaves and mushrooms and low fat protein like chicken and fish. The high weight loss I put down to my vastly increased exercise when I took over Losyn's walkies 3 times a week to give Beth time in the garden, she loves gardening. I guesstimate my calorie intake and I'm fairly good at it after spending 2 years weighing and counting every mouthfull about 15 years back, I lost 5 stone then but put it all back on over the years. This time I might keep the weight off since I won't be going back to my three bars a day chocolate habit.

That's great! You seemed to have found a diet that's right for you. Do you try to measure yourself at a consistent time during the day?

Yep Friday morning mid morning, that's when the cousins and I go shopping together and I go round to their house to pet Losyn till my hand falls off and weigh on their scales.
