Diet report

I don't have a weighing scales myself so I go to Beth's every Friday to weigh before we go shopping. Since they were on the high seas by then I went shopping by myself so forgot. I went up today and tried to weigh myself and hopefully failed miserably. Beth's scales is one of these electronic ones which you have to press buttons in a certain sequence to get to a simple weight. I thought I got it right but according to the weight shown I have gained 6 lbs. and although I have had an extra treat this week and went out to lunch last Sunday (egg chips and beans at the Cwmcarn Scenic Drive visitors centre) the rest of the week was exactly the same as the previous week. My clothes are, if anything, a little loser this week than last so I hope I just got things wrong so I am suspending weighing myself until the cousins are home but the diet goes on. Still even if it's right I have still lost 1lb over the last fortnight so I am not going into a despondency binge.

I am, lunch today was grilled steak, steamed new potatoes and French beans which is miles better than the roast every thing I usually have from Jill.

It's probably a quirk of the scales. I always think the way your clothes fit is a better indication anyway.

Beth phoned me this afternoon from the harbour at Copenhagen, and she told me I probably had the scales on a different part of the floor than the one she puts them on and that can make a world of difference. So I'm looking at the bra I'm wearing and going by that, 12 months ago it gave me 4 breasts, today I have only 2.

Fit is more important than weight. You might even have started building muscle in place of flab. :~)

Then it's all on the thighs and calves cause they are the only muscles I've been exercising %P. Even when I take Losyn to Cwmcarn lake for his monthly bath I use a tennis raquet or a throwing stick (here http://www.forpawsandclaws.co.uk/images/flick_n_throw.jpg if you don't know what I'm talking about)to throw the ball into the water for him to fetch. It wears him out much more quickly than walkies. Fit is good, I'm wearing a bra this morning that I haven't put on i a year or more because it looked as if I 4 breasts last time I put it on, there is only the proper number there today.%D

It is only a scale; this blasted machine only plays dirty games with us. Don“t be distressed, as far as you feel all right and good it must be good. Believe in "Losyn fitness strategy"!

I do believe which is why I'm not expecting to lose much in the next 2 weeks as he is in kennels while his people are off cruising the Baltic. It's no fun going walkies by yourself. The diet is still holding, I went shopping this afternoon at the Cop-op supermarket which has all the things I shouldn't eat and came away with a few new potatoes, some French beans and low calorie soft drinks, and wasn't even tempted to indulge in cakes or chocolate. If I was telling this to Beth she would be asking me who I was and what had I done with Linda, I am shocked at myself.

I admire you deeply! I only want to tell you what happens to me from time to time: at such an occasion I just HAVE to eat some chocolate or something sweet - my body commands me to do it. So I eate even this chocolate for cooking ( I give it is a freezer) and then all is normal again.
I have not managed any real diet. Actually the only problem is my eating in the eveninig, nuts, cheese and such - here and there. While reading...

Oh yes I know that feeling, it got me locked out of my house in my nightdress when I was in Newport because I had nothing in the house.
I had showewred early and got into my night dress when about 10pm I got the chocolate craving. I picked up my purse and keys and threw on a long coat to cover up the fact I wasn't dre3ssed and walked across the road to the 24 hour garage which had a small shop attached and got myself a bar of Cadbury's dairy cream and walked back only to find the keys I had picked up were not my house keys but the library keys. Luckily I kept a spare set about 15 mins walk away at a freinds house but that night taught me either
1. To say no to myself and mean it.
or more often
2. Get dressed before leaving the ouse and check my keys before slamming the door behind me.

You're doing great Linda - it sounds to me as if you are still making good progress - it doesn't always register on the scales. Looser clothing is as good as the pounds going any day :D
