Last Sunday my healthy eating regime change to a diet, No more than 2000 cals a day and most of that vegetables with 100 cals a day as a treat to yourself. Only I'm not bothering to weigh and measure as after loosing 5 stone over 2 years on that diet with Welsh Slim I've learned what that amount of cals per day look like, I'm guestimating. As a result when I weighed this morning I have lost 7 pounds. Hopefully this large weight loss won't continue, if it does then either I am guestimating wrong or there is something wrong with me. [livejournal.com profile] sue_chose_this where did you find the scale you are using,I would like to get one like it. Wish me luck Gentlebeings, this is the first time I have really dieted with out going to a club for moral support, I'm counting on you to give me that now.

As true as I'm sitting here typing, I am amazed I have dieted many times in my lifetime but I have never lost more than 5lbs in a week. I put it down to dog walking. Losyn is a wonder dog%D.

I'm thanking Losyn for it, I have never lost that amount in a week before, not even the first week of a diet which is when you do lose most. But then I have never increased my exercise before and having a fairly sedentary job, walking the wonder dog has worked wonders.

Well done. I wish I could lose 7 lb in a week. Or even a couple of pounds. Still, at least I'm not gaining any

I guess I need to be stricter with myself, though I know I'm not that bad.

Sigh.

I haven't been particularly strict on myself but I have been getting a lot more exercise recently. Since I finished work I have started helping out my cousin Beth by exercising her dog 3 times a week. In good weather we do the Sirhowy walk which is about 3 miles and in the rain we do one of a couple of sheltered walks of about 1 miles each. Since, as a librarian ,my working day was sedentary. So cutting back on my treats and getting more exercise seems to be working miracles.

Being more settled in mind probably helps as well, even if all it does is reduce the need for comfort snacks.

But whatever the cause, Well Done.

Good luck! I bet all the dog-walking's got a LOT to do with it. All that exercise gets you too tired to eat. :^)

That is very true, I walked him this morning and had a ham and salad sandwich for lunch and half a melon and 6 grapes for tea, that was preprepared so was easy but that leaves me a lot of calories to eat so I bought my self a Mars bar as my treat when I went out for milk. That is way above my 100 cals treat but it should have taken me up to my limit for today.

Good!Good! If you still feel fine, it should be all right, I hope.
I do not have to walk my cat but I have got plenty of work here and there. Alas, I did put some weight on and can“t get rid of it. Just need stronger will.

I feel better than I have for months. I give Losyn extra petting when I go to get him for walkies, because he is the one that is walking the fat off me.

In deed it is, if I didn't love Losyn to pieces already, he would be my favourite little furry now.

That's fantastic news Linda :)
You are making great strides to getting the things you want and that will bring you happiness in your life.

Walking the dog is something I must learn to take pleasure in - to drive to somewhere nice to walk. There is nowhere just outside my home that is pleasant for walking.

If you go to one of my posts tagged diet and click on the scale it will take you to the ticker tape site and you can create your own. :D

I thought of that yesterday and now have one on my home page, when I get braver I might put it on lj. Walking the dog where I live isn't particularly interesting which is where a cart comes in handy, the Sirhowy, Cwmcarn and Pen-y-fan are all car drives away. Even so they would be come boring if I wasn't so interested in the plants and animals (though these are rarer and consist mostly of squirrels disappearing up a tree followed by a black and white dog failing to climb behind them) and the camera. You just need the right attitude of mind.
