After my visit to the biobank and being weighed I decided it was time I started doing something to reduce my weight. I haven't exactly been dieting, just eating healthy, substituting a salad sandwich with lean protein(chicken, tongue or turkey) instead of cheese, bacon or ham with no salads, poached eggs instead of fried and cutting way down on my sweet things(mainly cake) and I weighed today and have lost 4lbs without really trying. I'm sure walking Losyn more than I used to has helped enormously but I must try harder, at this rate it will take me years to get down to an acceptable weight.

Get on with you - it's a really good start and it will get easier as you lose more :)
Don't push too hard, keep it doable.

Well done Linda - it's those little lifestyle changes that make all the difference. Keep us informed so we can cheer \o/

It only works out at a pound a week but it is something, all I need to do is keep on the way I am and in just over 9 years I will reach my target weight%P. When I get over this cold/flu I'll start dieting properly.

Congratulations.

Sounds like a good plan. It's a good thing you have Losyn to walk. A good built-in incentive.

I always found exercise the hardest. If I've made it a habit, then I keep it. But the moment I break the habit for any reason, then it's really hard for me to get back into it.

I found that cutting down starches and other hi-carb foods and snacks also helped me a great deal.

Hard, it's impossible for me, once I break it stays broken, which is why I took the daft beast out this morning even though I felt and still feel rotten.

Excellent! Actually, you're much better off losing it gradually. If you reduce your caloric intake too much, your body adapts to 'famine' and becomes more efficient at utilizing food. Exercise is the best thing, because it increases your metabolism.

Oh I know, it was called the famine response in the diet club I lost most weight on. I'm more or less obeying their weight loss plan but I would have to cut back further on my calories which I will be doing gradually over the next few months, I can't stand feeling hungry, it makes me binge. They recommended not going below 2000 cals on any diet. Meeting every one at Redemption next year is a good incentive too.

See - this is why I do low carb - because I don't ever need to be hungry and I don't have to count - (edit) [calories!] Just leave out the carbs!

Still - you do what works for you love - you'll get there :)

You rotten so and so. I'd been wondering where the 4lbs I've put on in the last few weeks had come from.

All I can say is you can take them back, I don't want them.

LOLs, if you lived closer I'd lend you Losyn, I'm sure he's the one that has worked them off me.
