Home appliances hate me

In the last two months my home appliances have turned against me.

First my freezer died, then one of my bathroom taps started leaking, then the shower showed its solidarity by starting to leak and now my cooker has given up the ghost. Two and three were repairable and the freezer was a back up one any way but I have to wait till Wednesday to find out if the cooker is savable. If it's not a wander round the local electrical apliances store has shown me that I can replace it with healthy eating options at a quarter the price of a new cooker. I've already bought a steamer and I have a grill and microwave already.

I don't know if I should be hoping the cooker can be saved or if it should be junked. Either way the car is going to have to wait a few months longer.

I'd think you could make do with what you've got left (I use my microwave and toaster oven a lot) plus a gas cooktop for stir-fries and simmering stews and soups etc. Though if you've got an electric frypan, it's amazing what you can do in those: roast dinners, even cakes, as Mum found when her oven broke down while she had guests. Mind you, she was lucky she was addicted to garage sales and owned three of the things.

Can you do stir fries in an electric fry pan? If you can then that is all I would need plus another work surface to put all my cooking implements on. You know how small my kitchen is a table where the cooker now is would do at a pinch.

Or put in some simple shelves to stack the cooking devices and bits.

My grandma always said things broke in threes. If two things broke, she would break a match before something else broke.
But then she also said put butter on burns, so she wasn't always right!
Fingers crossed for the cooker.
