Thank you all who wished me luck and those who thought good thoughts. I passed my driving test! After I took it my instructor told me that I had had the chief examiner who is an ex traffic policeman and is known to be very difficult to pass with. I am now quite pleased that he only gave me 15 minors, the maximum for a pass.

Now all I have to do is rob a bank to buy a car, though stealing the car would be easier, to paraphrase our favourite thiff.

Poor kid, I remember doing that, I was on my first 10 lessons then. The white knuckled grip on the wheel, the fixed stare, the look of mild fear on the face of the instructor, ah I remember it well Thank you on her behalf for being tolerant.

My cousin, who lives up round the corner from me, phoned me this evening and told me she had put me on her insurance. She further told me that she was driving to work tomorrow ( a distance of about a half mile) and I was going with her to drive the car back and I had to pick her up in the evening. I never realised she was totally out of her mind! If I make it back to home with the car in one piece and me not suffering from a complete nervous breakdown look out for a blue moon tomorrow night to compliment the red one we are having tonight.

Most definitely within the speed limit. If a newly qualified driver gets 6 points on their lisence within two years they have to retake both the theory and practical tests again, and I'm not going through that again. You get two points for every speeding offense.

You and Greg are my guardian angels,your visit kept my mind off the test for the three weeks I had to wait for it. Two weeks giving the house the spring clean of its life and then your visit I didn't have time to get worked up into the state I was in for the other three tests.

I'm glad you survived the trip back and I hope your body clock gets back to normal soon.

I think it'll come right pretty quickly. It's morning now and I'm feeling really good after a night's sleep. Also we didn't have a drive to Bedford to tire us out further after the flight and the excitement of the con to keep me awake. :-)
