It's grandma Moses before she became famous.

The first and by far rhe best of mine so far is just an exercise from my how to paint book. The command was use red blue and yellow for a sky wey on wet for a sky.

The second is my interpretation of this picture

And here it is

Well at least I'm versatile, Dali when I sketch and Grandma Moses when I paint. %P. Hopefully when classes start again in February I will improve, I never have been much good at book learning the practical skills, I'm much better when someine shows me.

And you are an excellent liar%P. They are better than expected without someone to actually show me what to do but that will be rectified in February when the lessons start again.

Nope. Not lying. And I'm jealous too. Painting is on my list of "I'll get round to having a go one day" stuff.

Then i thank you profoundly... Art was going to be one of my retirement projects, but this class came up and Cousin Beth wanted support so I started it early.

Thank you, I will never have a picture hung in the National Gallery but I am enjoying myself. Perhaps when classes start again in February I will improve.

I really like both of those, the first one for its softness and lovely sky, and the second one is wonderful. I could see that as an illo in a children's book. You are improving amazingly.

I think you had some camera shake there because I can see slight ghosting to the right; perhaps getting a cheap scanner would help.

All I've got to do is find the disc or on line download for the scanner I've got. I'm just to idle to look. The Farm on the mountain does have a certain naivety about it you see in some picture books. And I was thrilled about the sunset sky myself it is the first and so far only thing I am not critical of. It might end up framed and hung somewhere.

It should be! I think I'd use a grey matte on it, using one of the colours from the trees and buildings. :-)

There are a number of You Tube videos on water colours
I'm not sure how many would be useful to you.
