They look sweet and are mostly unafraid of humans they know well. Dad, being an ardent gardener and robins feeding mostly on grubs, always had a robin following him around when he was digging and scolding him mightily when he stopped to rest. Robins are very territorial and if they meet on the boundries of their territories it can lead to blood shed and death, none of this posturing until one of them goes away
American robins aren't even related. The colonists who named them were homesick. Where I live, we see them all the time. They're one of the most common birds.
