I decided, when a children's book on the subject was passed over the counter yesterday, to try to broaden my sketching style so here we have the only samples I am willing to share of my cartoon family who I have named the Weirds.

I'm not confident enough to draw in felt tip straight off yet, they are done in pencil and over written in felt tip.

They have character. The children will squabble and Mum has that look of "If sombody doesn't tidy up

Yes they do and with just a few lines, it's amazing. Ezmaralda in the second group has done something very evil to Kurt and Dad is trying not to laugh, Mam on the other hand is not pleased.

As I understand it, every cartoonist pencils their drawing first, and inks over them later. That's just how it's done...
