It's the tail that confused me. Wrens will perch on a twig on my side of a shrub their tails stick up like the one in your drawing. Woodpeckers mostly hide on the other side so I don't see them very often and when I do their tails are down so they can lean back on them. I've never seen one not clinging to the truck of a tree.
I'm my own worst critic I know, but Woody there isn't quite right and I can see it if no one else can. It's strange I'm very much an 'it will do' sort of person in my knitting and cross stitch (my only creative hobbies up til now) but my drawing has to be 'right' to satisfy me, and I can't even define right.
Thank you,if you say that often enough I might just begin to believe it. If I keep it up for the next 12 months I might manage a self portrait next year.
