Where in the universe has my mind gone

I spent yesterday wondering how I was going to get my anti-inflammitory prescription renewed in time for me not to run out. My doctor doesn't take phone renewals.

I got up this morning went to work, checked the diary to see if I was fininishing a 5.00 or 6.00 toninght and discovered I wasn't suposed to be in work at all. I booked today off to use up my annual leave.

I'm not totally gaga I had booked the day off but cancelled half of it so I could go home lunchtime the day of the blizzard and had got it into my head that I had canceled the whole day.

Still it did mean I've got my prescription renewed in time.

Ha, you're as daft as me! Oh dear, you could have had a lie in bed. That's always the temptation, but then you've used up your day off before you know it. So perhaps it wasn't such a bad idea to get up early anyway.

I take comfort in the fact that a much younger colleague told me today that she turned up for work last year on a Saturday when she didn't have to (we work every other Saturday regular as clockwork). And it's nice to know that there is someone out there who thinks they are as daft as me.
