Well the antibiotics are working very well, my sore throat and earache have gone and the leg is drying up nicely. I will have a nice scar and probably a dent there from not on, I prefer maxi skirts so it won't show. Minor problem, while my bodies defences were otherwise engaged a cold virus snuck in the door. I now have a blocked nose and can only breath through my mouth. I sound like a puffing grampus just getting up from a seat.

So long as it is just a cold and not the throat/ear infection finding other lodgings!
I've got a sinus infection at the moment too so I can empathise never mind sympathise. Look after yourself!

This is definitely a head cold thanks be. ENT infections are my weakness and I definitely know what you are going through. My doctor has more or less given up with antibiotics for my sinus infections, I get a steroid nasal spray called Beconase instead. It reduces the swelling and lets everything drain.

I just wish I could get the vaccination they advertised on TV for children. If as I suspect its the one against streptococcus it would kill most infections I get too!
Its not just the nose but the entire face and one side of my head. It'd have to be a forceful spray to get into all those areas!

Now that is slightly more than I usually get. With me it's my nose and the sinuses above my eyes and my ears. The Beconase works wonders, I don't know how it does it but it opens up everything.

I'm glad you're feeling better, and O hope the cold goes away soon.

Beconase works well, but I had to stop using it for hayfever: used every day for several years, it made my nose prone to bleeding. :-( I had to get pills which aren't as effective, but it's better than embarrassing nosebleeds. Don't worry; you won't get anything but good results for short-term treatment. :-)

That's the steroids in it, they have the nasty side affect of thinning the skin and blood vessels immediately beneath it. I've been using it for about 15 years now but at most twice a year for no more than a week to ten days at a time. So far I've had no adverse reaction thank heavens
