I have just been told I'm the image of my mother

Not only that but I sound like her too. My cousin Jill was reminded this week that my mothers best friend was 90 today. Mam died back in 97 so I delivered a card and a kiss on her behalf. Aunty Dora met Mam when she(Dora) was six months old and Mam was 2 days old. Mrs Shepherd and My Gran were neighbours at the time and she brought her baby with her when she dropped in to visit Gran after Mam's birth. The two babies were sleeping so Mrs Shepherd laid Dora in Mams cot and and she and Gran went off tho the kitchen to make a cuppa and have a good gossip. An hour later there was still no sound of awake babies so the mothers went back to see if they were all right. The foud both babies were awake and that Dora had rolled onto her side to get a better look at her cot compaion and Mam had her head turned to look at Dora. Both cried when they were separated. and as they grew up you would seldom find one without the other. Their friendship survived the separation of going away to work and war service and marriage and they were still friends 81 years later when Mam died. And this year Aunty Dora turned 90.

Both she and her daughter Jan (who's about 5 years older than me) says It was like hearing my mother speak when they couldn't see me and that I couldn't be mistaken for any thing but her daughter when they could see me. Jan called it spooky.

Mam was nothing like the rest of hers family. They were tall, blond or redheads with blue eyes, she was small dark brown/black hair(it was hard to tell) and dark brown eyes and that's the pattern I follow too. But I had no inkling that I sounded like her. You can learn something new about yourself even at my age.
