linda_joyce: (NaArMaMo)
IT's that time of year again and I try to make art.  For those of my friends that have joined me since September last year here is a short explanation.  Several years ago a group of my friends decided that if Authors could have a National Novel Writing Month they could have A National Art Making Month.  The aim was to produce something artistic every day of the Month of August and post it in NaAtMaMo a group in live journal each day regardless of your time zone.  For example those living on the opposite side of the eart to the UK would have the first of August  before the UK.  The artist would create her art on that  Ist and post it as a clickable thumb nail when the date was Posted in the UK.
I say they  because the first year I just observed.  I joined in in the second year and produced some terrible pieces of art but that doesn't matter, all are welcome regardless of their talents, we accept everything from icons to crochet to paper folding, via all other artistic oevres you can think of.  So this month my dw/lj sites will be mostly my still not wonderful art .  I start bad and usually get better as the month goes on.  I had decided to do sketched Christmas cards this month I have done some while waiting for my water colours to dry in art class but not enough so for this month I will be posting my Christmas cards as my art.  This is the first time I have picked up a pencil since MAy and it is not good.  Added to lack of practice is the fact I have altered this sketch from the original that I am copying, I don't have the inner sight neccessary to create, I copy.  The original hadf the Snowman, flashing(his carrot nose had slipped to his lower regions) and though I know at least one of my friends that has my wicked sense og humour I have made it not rude.
