Stuart, the teacher of the art class I go to, organised a coach trip to Oxford for his classes. Mostly so he could see the display of stringed instruments, guitars to be precise, but for us to view the collections of painting they have for us students.
The Ashmolean "allows photography every where except where it says you shouldn't, please do not use flash photography.". Now I'm sure there are those amongst you who have advanced enough cameras to deal with this but I don't so the following photos have been extensively fiddled with to make them visible at all. The figures and instruments are all in glass cabinets and reflections make them blurry. All the paintings, I wanted to photograph were water colour and c over with glass so for the reasons stated above I didn't bother photographing them. There is one oil painting that I did snap, you will no doubt realise why when you see it. I took a lot more when Beth and I went out to do a bit of Architectual photographing You'll have those inflicted on you later.

And this is what a real Stradivarius looks like, which to me is not a lot, but it is the sound that counts.
