Late Birthday present.
Oct. 29th, 2009 08:50 pmBeth asked me this morning if I was planning to be in this afternoon and I said yes, I have had to walk Losyn every day this week as Beth has done something painful to her knee and my legs are getting a little tired. I planned to sit in front of the TV with my knitting and catch up on things I've videoed and not had time to look at. 2:30 pm Knock on the door and there was Beth and her next door neighbour(who is a gardener). Brian, the neighbour, was carrying his spade and a pond liner. Beth had bought me the pond liner and was paying Brian to dig the hole and set up a pond for me as my birthday present. At the moment it is a small irregular muddy pool of water set in bare earth, I will go out and photograph it tomorrow with something by it so you can see the size, I will leave it for the winter to settle and maybe go wild and plant it up in the spring. It means a trip back to the garden centre for more bulbs to plant ready for spring and plans to be made as to what I can actually grow in the water. I'm hoping I can get miniture versions of these Flag Irises

which stand almost as tall as I am and Ranunculus
probably not the yellow sort.
You will get progress reports as I progress.
