Are all medically qualified people bad patient or it just Jil. As you know, if you have been reading me for any length of time, she is a diabetic with a few other medical problems and recently had an operation for the removal of an infected bunion. She had been on antibiotics for weeks and was still on them for a couple of weeks after the op and she says all antibiotics make her feel sick so she had been barely eating. As a result of which she had become very run down and lacking in energy and I think had forgotten what food tasted like because up until Thursday of this week was still not eating, the food tasted odd, every thing was too dry. The last Sunday I cooked lunch I made enough gravy for the meat and veg to float. It took the threat from her sister , Beth, and her best friend(also a senior nurse before they both retired) of sending her back into hospital if she didn't start eating properly that she did eat lunch and dinner on that day and the next 2. So now she's better and she is going to cook Sunday lunch for us. By the time it was ready to serve up she looked three parts dead and Beth and I made her sit down in the living room and we finished off serving up. She is taking a probiotic drink now as I think the heavy dosages of antibiotics had killed off her good bacteria, some thing I had been suggesting from the moment she started on antibiotics. But no, what could I know I am not medically trained. The fact that I went through it my self when I had my breast abscess didn't mean anything, it was only when I got her best friend to suggest it that she is now trying it, and feeling better though it will take some weeks before she is back to normal there.

It's Beth I feel sorry for, she is not the sort of person that finds nursing the sick easy, she hates cooking and prefers to be in the garden pottering when it is fine rather than in doors in case Jill needs help but she is doing her best and is worried sick about Jill to and there is nothing I can do, I would happily take over the cooking for them both but Jill hates people useing her kitchen and she wont eat things I could cook down here and transport up there. She hates pasta and rice both of which I could do in bulk and Beth could reheat in the microwave and Fish does not respond well to reheating.
There's no need to reply I just had to shout about it to some one and you lot were 'volunteered', any way I've disabled comments. Nicer things in the next post.

Beth grew Nasturtiums from seed this year and planted more than she needed because seeds don't all germinate, these did. %D So after planting Nasturtiums everywhere there was a spare inch of soil I got about a dozen plants all of which have grown like Triffids. I should have been out there photographing them since the beginning of September but I've only just got round to it. It was [profile] threeoutside's post saying that she had had the first snow. Nasturtiums don't survive the first frost and it must come soon, after all it is October 11th.

So here are a few Nasturtiums, and other Autumn flowers.
